Green Opening Times

OUT OF SEASON BOWLING IS CONTINUED BY SOME MEMBERS AT LOCAL INDOOR CLUBS 

We have three matches scheduled for this winter

 27/10/24  SHWBC V Lewisham and Crystal Palace: Mixed. 

27/11/24 SHWBC V Bromley IBC: Mixed. 

25/01/25 SHWBC V Lewisham and Crystal Palace: Mixed. 

 

Coaching

We are proud to have an excellent team of experienced coaches whom are all members of South Hill Wood Bowling Club, Bromley.

Coaching will be offered at intervals throughout the season, at South Hill Woods Bowling Club. With both tuition in the club house and on the green, covering the various positions of play including Leads, Threes and Skips.

All members are encouraged to have coaching from time to time even if fairly experienced bowlers.

South hill wood club competitions

League Matches

We have two Men's Teams and two Ladies Teams in the North West Kent league.'
We also compete in the Men's LX League which is for men over 60. There are 19 Clubs that participate and we play each of the teams once during the season. Congratulation to the Ladies NWK 1st Team for winning the Gladys Tyler Cup for 2023

We have several internal club competitions and members are asked to put their names forward at the beginning of the season.

The selections and rules of play are displayed on the notice board in the club house. New members and less experienced players are particularly encouraged to enter the McDonald Wood and Brook singles and the 100 up. Mentors will be happy to explain the rules etc. All members are also encouraged to take part in the weekly Aggregates. Men’s and Ladies on a Monday and Mixed on a Friday in the afternoons. At the end of the season we have a finals day and winners and runners up are presented with a medal.

everyday play - Roll Ups

Roll ups can be played most days providing there isn’t a match taking place, but Saturday morning is the most popular time.
Normally a 10am start. Individuals can arrange rolls up with other members but make sure a rink isn't booked for matches or other competitions.
